Entry Requirements:
Interview required
You will be assessed for your potential to
achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the
level and range of activities you will be undertaking in the
workplace. It is strongly recommended that direct entry applicants
have achieved a minimum of GCSE grade C in English, maths and
science.
You may need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and
maths skills in which you are required to be working at or towards
level 2.
At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be
employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30
hours per week. You will also need to have been a resident in the
EU for at least 3 years.
Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the
apprenticeship.
Applicants may be eligible to direct entry onto the advanced
apprenticeship; prior attainment will be taken into account eg:
achievement of the Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Assessment:
College tutors/assessors and internal verifiers will ensure that all NVQ portfolios meet the required standard of competence. The technical certificate will also prove the apprentice's competence, knowledge and understanding at level 3.

Some may progress to further or higher education, some may also progress to foundation degrees. All apprentices have options of working towards flexible progression routes, for example, units of another related NVQ, further NVQs, specific in house training courses and development in areas such as quality, design and supervision.
