Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).

Course Content: The Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of

people, enabling them to work in the industry in their chosen craft. It has been specifically

developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions, and the test(s) are

based on the learner showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all

the requirement of the qualification.

Training units include:

Safe Working Practices in Construction

Information and Quantity surveying systems for Bench Joinery

Set out, Mark out and Manufacture Routine Bench Joinery Products

Set up and Operate Circular Saw’s

Entry Qualification: There are no formal entry requirements for the diploma. However, providers must ensure that learners have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification. This will be determined through a formal interview with the course tutor prior to enrolment. Course Format: Full time Progression: The qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and skills related to the equivalent NVQ unit. On completion of this diploma, learners may progress into employment or on to one or more of the following:

• Level 1 to Level 2 in the same occupation

• Level 2 to Level 3 in the same occupation

• Level 2 or Level 3 to technical supervisors and management qualification
