Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).
Course Content: This course will provide you with practical skills that are used in electrical installation and are ideally suited to school leavers who wish to become electricians working in the maintenance or installations trades.

Course Content: This course will provide you with practical skills that are used in electrical installation and are ideally suited to school leavers who wish to become electricians working in the maintenance or installations trades.

You will be assessed through the completion of various training activities as well as an externally set knowledge test. With further studies in this area, you may have the opportunity to progress to technician testing engineer or design.

Throughout the year you will study the following subjects:

• Electrical regulations

• Science

• Workshop technology

• Electronics

• Information technology

• Workshop practice

• Key Skills Entry Qualification: You will need 4 GCSEs grades A* - Ds, preferably Cs in Maths, English, Science or Technology, also as part of the selection process you will take a BPEC aptitude test and attend an interview. Special Features: Leads to the City and Guilds qualification in Electrical Installation, you may also have the opportunity to complete a foundation level Key Skills certificate. Course Format: Full time, usually 3 days per week. Progression: Once you have completed this course you may progress onto NVQ Level 3, depending upon whether or not you have suitable employment in a vocationally relevant trade at that time.
