Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).
Course Content: This course will develop the skills and knowledge desired by employers in the Public Services sector. It particularly reinforces teamwork, leadership skills and communication and provides excellent preparation for progression onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma.

You will undertake six units of study, including;

• Uniformed Public Services employment

• Public service skills

• Uniformed public service fitness

• Citizenship

Some units include a range of outdoor activities Entry Qualification: You are required to have achieved 4 GCSEs at grade D or above. Special Features: All applicants must attend an interview followed by a pre-course assessment day. You will be required to purchase a uniform and pay for trips during the course. Course Format: The course is taught on a workshop/classroom basis and outdoor activities. Emphasis will be put on a practical approach to the course wherever possible. As well as classroom based work, the course includes visits, guest speakers, team building, practical sessions, an expedition and outdoor activity residential.

Your work will be assessed continuously through a range of theory and practical based assessment activities. Progression: By achieving a Merit or above in this course you may be able to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services after a progression interview or apply for selection to the Public Services if you meet the age and entry requirements.
