If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).

Course Content: This course is designed to introduce students to
the world of creative and practical media work. You will complete
the units through a number of hands on projects including
animation, music video, documentary and advertising. You will learn
to script, shoot and edit video and create page layout using the
latest digital media technology. Entry Qualification: For entry
onto this course, you are required to have at least 4 GCSEs at
grade D or above including grade D or above in English. Course
Format: Each unit will require research skills, planning and
practical hands on media production. You’ll develop writing skills
alongside your creative technical skills, like camera work and
computer based editing. The course encourages creative ideas which
you will develop into real video or print design pieces.
All 7 units are internally assessed through folders of planning
work, final videos/print layouts and written evaluations. As there
are no final exams, you need to work hard all year round on tasks.
Progression: You will need to achieve a Merit grade overall to
progress to a BTEC Level 3 Exteneded Diploma/Diploma/Subsidiary
Diploma/Certificate in Media Production.
