For either course, you need to be working within a construction environment. The wood occupations Apprenticeships are suitable for those working in roles such as Site Carpenter, Bench Joiner or Shopfitter Bench Joiner.
What will I do on the course?
In both levels of Apprenticeship, you will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) modules. Although you will select modules that are most closely connected to your work activities, you will also complete a Technical Certificate and the following typical topics:- Safe working practices
- Information, quantities and communication
- Building methods.

What qualifications do I need?
Level 3 - ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 construction qualification and have some vocational experience. You should have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and hold GCSE A*-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.When does the course start?
September 2013, however flexible start times may also be available.Where is it held?
As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in a construction environment and be visited regularly in the workplace by your trainer/assessor for practical assessments. In addition, you will attend college on a day release basis – these sessions will usually take place at either Tamworth or Cannock campus. For both levels, the usual duration for each course is 24 months.What does it cost?
