Who is this course for?

This course is not suitable for a complete beginner you need to have previous experience of handling fresh flowers.

What will I do on the course?

You will construct a Carmen Rose buttonhole and a Designer Carmen Rose Bridal bouquet under guidance from the course tutor. (A Carmen Rose is when we dismantle a number of roses, the petals are then pinned on to the central rose to create a large flower form) We will cover bespoke wedding designs; who is this design suitable for, longevity, care, storage and transportation of your completed design. What will I do on the course?

You will construct a Carmen Rose buttonhole and a Designer Carmen Rose Bridal bouquet under guidance from the course tutor. (A Carmen Rose is when we dismantle a number of roses, the petals are then pinned on to the central rose to create a large flower form) We will cover bespoke wedding designs; who is this design suitable for, longevity, care, storage and transportation of your completed design. All under pinned with sound knowledge from your tutor re principles and elements of design. All materials will be provided, 1 wrap (20 roses) of premium roses, wires and decorative collar for your completed design. As yet the colour scheme has not been decided but the bouquet will sit in a gold metal framework. This design will have limited longevity as the flowers will not be water so will not be drinking. The completed design will be sprayed with 'clear life' an oasis product used to seal in moisture and help preserve flowers.

Where is it held?

You will be studying in the floristry department at Rodbaston Campus, please wear closed in shoes to comply with the college's health and safety guidelines.

How long does the course last?

4 hours 10am – 2pm (One day workshop)

What equipment will I need?

Floristry scissors, knife and pliers Clean tea towel or small towel to rest your design on so as not to bruise the rose petals. Please bring a packed lunch, tea and coffee will be provided.
