Dyslexia Awareness College Certificate Course Details This induction session is about increasing awareness about the specific learning difficulty (SpLD) Dyslexia. Definitions of dyslexia will be considered along with current research concerning the causes. Learners will consider the range of difficulties associated with dyslexia and the implications for families and educational establishments following the Rose Report (2010). Practical coping strategies will also be explored. Learners will attend a 3 hour workshop which will provide underpinning knowledge. Learners will be provided with resources required on the day. Learning Outcome There are three learning outcomes. The learner will: Explore definitions of dyslexia to raise awareness. Recognise the range of difficulties experienced by learners with dyslexia. Identify practical strategies for supporting learners with dyslexia. Progression after Programme The underpinning knowledge from this session could be used in conjunction with Level 2 and Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.
