This apprenticeship is delivered through 12 sessions at college, spread throughout the year, alongside comprehensive e-learning content (lessons you can complete at home or work).

The coursework – in the form of business tasks – is completed via e-learning and e-portfolio, and an assigned assessor will maintain regular contact through site visits.

As an apprentice on the social and digital media pathway, you gain work experience in a range of business and IT qualifications and you earn a wage at the same time.

Enrolling also gives you access to the exclusive Digital Youth Academy social media community networking site so you can connect and share with other Digital Youth Academy apprentices across the country.

You gain employability skills and further develop your digital media skills for use in a business context, especially in the place you work. You gain valuable experience that enables you to further your career in this exciting, rapidly expanding area.

There are no formal entry requirements. Upon application you will be invited to an interview and undertake initial assessments to ensure that the course is right for you.

You could progress to further study at university.

Or you could gain employment in such roles as:
• social media assistant
• digital communications officer
• social media analyst

You need to enjoy spending time on the internet and social media sites in particular. A good working knowledge of these sites would be an advantage
