This is a general Business English course both for people who have not yet worked in business and for people who have experience of working in business environments. It is aimed at students with intermediate or upper intermediate levels of English who need to enhance their English for professional purposes and increase their ability to communicate effectively in the workplace. We offer 10-week evening courses and can also provide bespoke courses.

The course provides practical reading, speaking, listening and writing skills for people who need English for working in business. You will also study a wide range of essential business vocabulary and grammar. Areas that will be studied may include: jobs and company departments; production processes; distribution and delivery, advertising and marketing; making arrangements; transport; business accommodation; developing contacts; cultural issues; teamwork; investments; recruitment; job applications; interview strategies; formal and informal letter writing; use of appropriate register and tone and giving presentations.

You will gain a range of English skills which will be useful for working in business environments.

Students need to show they are at an intermediate or upper intermediate level of English. All new students will be given a placement test.
