Barbering Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship

This Intermediate Apprenticeship programme is ideally suited for individuals who are working in a barbers shop and want to get an NVQ Level 2 in Barbering. It is for people interested in cutting the hair of men and boys.

Not only will you learn about cutting hair but also other issues related to barbering, like hygiene, disposing of chemicals and working in a team.

The Apprenticeship is a framework of qualifications consisting of the following:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering
- Functional Skills in Communication Level 1
- Application of Number Level 1
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities

All aspects of training will be completed either in college or in-house at the salon depending on employer preference. An assessor will regularly visit you in the workplace to gather work-based evidence.

Apprenticeships are designed to let you benefit from real life work experience which you will get day-to-day in your job. This experience is supported by theoretical knowledge gained at college in both classroom and workshop based sessions/assessments.

You gain recogniseds qualification and valuable industry experience, making you more employable.

There are no entry requirements for this course.

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment and then attend an interview with a member of staff who will be delivering the course.

On successful completion of the Barbering Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship programme, you can progress to a Barbering Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or Hairdressing Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

You will be working with all sorts of different people so a friendly nature is essential.
