The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is an internationally recognised qualification that is essential for a career in hairdressing. The course may include 9.00 am starts and a late night. Students undertake the followingmandatory units: Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp. Advise and consult with clients. Cut hair using basic barbering techniques. Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques. Dry and finish men’s hair. Health & safety. Andoptional units from the following list: Perm hair to create a variety of looks. Make and style a hair addition. Change men’s hair colour Promote products and services to clients in a salon. Display stock to promote sales in a salon. Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work. Fulfil salon reception duties. Create basic patterns. Give clients a positive impression of yourself and organisation. Entry Requirements A formal interview and initial assessment is required before acceptance, to ensure the course is suitable. Assessment Assessment is continuous throughout the programme and in the work place. Students will also be expected to work on assignments and a portfolio of evidence will be produced to show attainment throughout the course. There will be some internal end tests on specific units.
