Wood Occupations Diploma Level 2 Course Details The course consists of occupational units of competence in Wood Occupations and to provide valuable practical and theoretical experience for those looking for employment within the Wood Occupations trade. A Course For The Level 2 Diploma is designed to prepare people for work. Those students who seek employment in construction but have not been able to secure a placement with an employer can develop the necessary skills and knowledge to work in their chosen occupation. Also for those students who have failed to gain employment/ placement but who wish to train in Wood Occupations and therefore make themselves more attractive to prospective employers. Entry Requirements Four GCSEs at grades D-E or above or Wood Occupations Diploma Level 1. Assessment The Level 2 Diploma is made up of a number of units and a practical assignment. Candidates have to be successful in all units and the practical assignment to gain the award, and will also be required to pass the GOLA online test, a separate knowledge test set and assessed by CAA. Each unit achieved will be recorded. Learning Outcome Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery. Progression after Programme Successful candidates may progress to a Level 3 Diploma or Employment within the construction Industry. The Level 2 Diploma directly relates to NVQ Level 2 and can therefore be formally recognised as progression awards.
