A Course for Individuals who work with teachers in the classroom supporting the learning process in Primary, Secondary and Special Needs Schools. This includes those with a general support role and those with specific responsibilities for a pupil, subject area or age group. Entry Criteria You must have a work placement or employment in a school setting working with children aged 0-19 years for a minimum of 9 hours per week. Evidence of a current DBS check. Good level of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. Assessment Students are required to compile a portfolio of evidence which includes; workplace observations, assignments, projects and reflective accounts. Learning Outcome Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools. Progression after Programme Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools. Additional Information Students must organise their own work placement and police clearance before being accepted onto the course. Due to the level of workplace observation required there will be a minimum number of workplace hours required. All students will be required to attend an interview and will complete an initial assessment for literacy and numeracy prior to being accepted on the programme.
