Entry to the Uniformed Services NCFE Diploma Level 3 Awarding Body
NCFE Course Details To provide students with knowledge,
understanding and skills required for successful employment in the
Uniformed Services, where learners focus on one service of their
choice with an emphasis on the leadership of others. All students
are required to successfully complete the following 5 mandatory
units: Prepare for employment to a chosen uniformed service
Develop aspects of physical fitness Refine leadership skills
Legal implications of physical actions Carry out advanced map
reading and navigation across open country. Plus complete 3

Entry to the Uniformed Services NCFE Diploma Level 3 Awarding Body
NCFE Course Details To provide students with knowledge,
understanding and skills required for successful employment in the
Uniformed Services, where learners focus on one service of their
choice with an emphasis on the leadership of others. All students
are required to successfully complete the following 5 mandatory
units: Prepare for employment to a chosen uniformed service
Develop aspects of physical fitness Refine leadership skills
Legal implications of physical actions Carry out advanced map
reading and navigation across open country. Plus complete 3
specialist units. In addition to the above, functional skills will
also be delivered. Students are required to purchase and wear
Public Service Department kit in all practical activities, or as
directed by staff. A Course For Students who are thinking about a
career in the Uniformed Services including the Army, Navy, Fire,
Police & Prison Service, but need a year’s courseto develop
life skills and fitness levels before entry. Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade C or above, one of which must be English, or a
Public Services BTEC Level 2 with an average grade of ‘merit’ or
equivalent plus English at Level 2. Assessment Throughout the
programme students are continuously assessed using a variety of
methods and must produce a portfolio of evidence. Functional skills
are also included in the programme and assessed externally.
