Counselling Skills Certificate Level 2 Awarding Body: ABC Awards Course Details This course is the progression from Counselling Skills Level 2 Award. The course is based around gaining practical and theoretical knowledge. Three different counselling theories are introduced and explored along with a basic exploration of the ethical and professional implications of counselling studies. The student will develop their skills through practical exercises and discussions with peers and tutors. The course involves small and large group discussions, practical exercises and tutor input. A Course for Students who have completed the level two Award in Counselling Skills and wish to further develop their skills and knowledge. Entry Requirements Counselling Skills - Level 2 Award. Minimum age of 18 years. Minimum attendance of 80%. The ability to work sensitively in a group. Willingness to contribute to, and take part in group activities. Completion of the assessed work. Assessment The qualification is assessed internally and involves observation of practice, discussion and short pieces of written work. A Portfolio of evidence will be completed during the course, and presented for internal and external assessment. Learning Outcome Counselling Skills– Level 2 Certificate. Progression after Programme Suitable candidates can progress onto the Counselling Skills Level 3 Diploma.
