How can I make a career change towards working with animals?

Question asked by: Skip

  1. What do you want to learn, change or accomplish? I would like to gain some knowledge about animal behaviour, welfare and care. I need a new set of skills to enable me to change my career path and work with animals which is something I was discouraged from doing when I left school.
  1. Why are you interested in this? Tell something about your motivation, work background and future plans. I have recently realised that I am bored with my career as a police officer and when I wrote a CV I realised that although I have a lot of personal skills I have little in the way of professional qualifications. After 20 years I want to follow my dream of working with animals.
  2. How do you want the course or program to be set up? Think about the level of completion, region, your budget and other criteria. Due to work commitments I need a flexible distance learning package. I have no preference for the level of completion as I am willing to work my way up to higher levels. I want something that improves my knowledge and something to show a prospective employer. I would like to know what course(s) would best suit my needs.
