Digital Technology combines modules from computing and electronics. The programme has been tailored for those who would like to develop their knowledge and skills at a higher level in this key area of computing software, hardware and networking. From the key fundamentals of the hardware through to the higher skills of programming, the course has been designed to be both challenging and enjoyable.
The Programme Content
The combination of modules that make up your course have been
carefully drafted. The key principles of both hardware and software
are covered in stage 1 and taken to a higher level within specific
specialisms in stage 2. This programme builds module by module to a
complete package we feel is right for those either entering this
field of study or wishing to develop their career in this dynamic
area.
Entry Requirements
Students will ideally possess a National Diploma or A Level,
preferably in an appropriate subject. If you are a mature student,
your qualifications and experience will be considered on an
individual basis but students must demonstrate at interview that
they have the necessary motivation, potential, experience and/or
knowledge to follow the programme successfully.
Costs
Students will be required to purchase their own USB memory sticks and texts and may like to purchase the materials needed for building their own electronic circuits. Students with access to the internet and common IT applications or software packages will be at an advantage as they will be able to access learning materials at any time.

Progression
Upon successful completion the normal progression route for students will be the BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Plymouth University. Please note there is a progression application deadline and places may be subject to availability. As the demand in industry for this specific skills set is high, the team feel that this will be an excellent pathway for rapid career progression.
