Internet Communications & Networks - BSc (Hons) part-time

This is a technical and practical course which focuses on the systems and hardware that supports the internet and other digital systems and networks. You will develop valuable hands-on experience with a range of industry-standard hardware and software, helping you build applied skills and understanding for working in this sector.

Areas of study include computing technologies, network architecture and design, computer security, network operating systems, wireless networks, web and system based programming, network management and internet security. You will also gain internationally recognised professional Cisco qualifications in addition to your degree.

A substantial project, undertaken individually in the final year of the course, allows you to specialise in a chosen area of interest. The report produced at the end will demonstrate your competence in this area and should prove very helpful in job interviews.

The course is supported by dedicated networks laboratories. Many of the computing facilities can be accessed across the internet from home, allowing you to work on your assignments whenever and wherever you choose.
