The course focuses on the scientific aspects of sport and exercise, and includes physical activity for health. - British Association of Sport and Exercise Science accredited physiologists
- The British Psychological Society chartered psychologists and following nationally recognised guidelines of good practice.

- gas analysers
- the environmental chamber
- lactate analysers etc, all of which are totally relevant to the course in lab sessions.
We also studied specific subjects like the disabilities module which is not taught at many universities and is valuable for understanding sport for all.

Sport and Exercise Scientists improve performance, and at NTU that's what we are passionate about. We help sportsmen and women raise their game whilst keeping them healthy and limiting the risk of injury. Final Year – core module

- Environmental Sports Physiology

How will I be assessed?You will be assessed using a variety of methods relevant to the specific modules, these include

You will have around 12 hours of scheduled contact time per week, this will take the form of traditional lectures and seminars, practical workshops and external visits. The remainder of your time will be self-guided, independent study.

- the George Elliot building.

Sport at NTUAs well as offering a wide range of sporting activities organised by the Students' Union, the University is active in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions, which take place on Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. Sport, exercise and health physiology
laboratories
These are fully equipped with specialist
facilities that provide a high-quality, dynamic learning
environment to cater for different types of exercise testing and
physical activity.
British Olympic Association (BOA) Approved Environmental
Chamber
The chamber has been used by Olympic athletes
for acclimatisation to extreme competition environments. It enables
us to simulate climates anywhere in the world, from Everest to
Egypt.
Biomechanics and Performance Analysis Suite includes isokinetic and isometric dynamometers for assessment of force produced by muscle groups of the body. You will also have access to a 3D camera motion analysis system.
The Culinary Skills Teaching Kitchen and the Lee
Westwood Centre Nutrition Suite
You will have the
opportunity to develop your cooking skills and deliver cook and eat
sessions.
The School also features IT, sports psychology and management suites used for:
- match analysis
- statistical analysis
- nutritional analysis
- coaching analysis.
You will also have a host of sporting clubs and societies to get involved in.
