Students will study Core modules including, Creative Languages, Contextual Studies, Entrepreneurship and Skills Processes and Technologies. There will be an ongoing programme of practical assignments in Fashion Design, including Pattern and Garment construction, and Stitched, Knitted, Felted and Printed Textiles, as well as Digital Media and Visual Studies. You will be encouraged to develop a broad understanding of contemporary and historical visual culture, with visits to exhibitions, design studios and manufacturing units, and regular input from visiting lecturers currently working in the textiles and fashion industries. Fashion and textile students are assessed through portfolio coursework, written assignments and presentations.What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? On completion of the course you will be prepared to progress into employment in the Textiles or Fashion Industries or onto a relevant BA honours degree programme.
