Summary:
The project-based programme offers strong tutorial support which empowers students to make informed choices about career pathways while building self-initiative, motivation and drive.
This programme aims to develop creative designers in Textiles and equip them with a broad range of technical skills together with aesthetic and commercial awareness. Learners will have the opportunity to explore a range of textiles techniques and materials and acquire the skills to enable them to create a range of textiles, complimentary interiors / fashion accessories and art based products.

Course Code: A3486 Minimum Age: 16 Maximum Age: 18 Start Date: 05/09/2011 End Date: 05/07/2013 Course Length: 2 years Entry Requirements:A good portfolio, plus one of the following:
- BTEC First Diploma with 2 merits or distinctions
- An equivalent qualification or experience
- 4 GCSE’s grade C and above, one of which must be English Language
Assessment is continuous and is course work based
Career Progression:Diplomates have the opportunity to progress to a degree course,
or obtain employment directly into the Textiles related industry or
self employment. The learner will be equipped with transferable
skills which can be applied to other types of employment and
provide the basis for further study or career changes.
All students will need to provide their own basic kit of equipment as well as being required to pay a studio and trips fee of £100 towards the costs of materials and research trips provided by College.

EnrichmentDuring the course Learner’s will have the
opportunity to show their work in the annual ‘Norwich Fashion Week’
show, and a Textiles / Fashion and Performing Arts event. They will
also have the opportunity to show work in a live selling exhibition
and also in the end of year Creative Arts show.
Visiting lecturers, designers and artists come to the college and
provide an opportunity for the students to enquire about their
chosen area of study.
In addition to study in College, students will be expected to undertake a minimum of six hours homework each week.
Costs:All students will need to provide their own basic kit of
