What does the course involve?

You will study the following units:

• Introduction, Business Accounting
• Double Entry Bookkeeping
• Day Books
• VAT
• The Cash Book and Petty Cash Book
• Control Accounts
• Reconciliations
• Journals and the Trial Balance
• Payroll Accounting Procedures
• The Banking System
• Credit Control, Bad Debts, Communications
• Business Law

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? The Level 2 Certificate is the first stage of the full AAT Accounting Qualification. Completing levels 2, 3 and 4 is approximately equivalent to the first year of an honours degree and allows you to use the letters MAAT after your name. This level of achievement also secures entry to further study with all the main chartered accountancy bodies.
