This course consists of studying Budgeting which is one module of the AAT Level 4 Diploma. Other modules that can be completed to gain the full qualification are as follows:
- Credit management
- Financial performance
- Financial statements
- Internal control & accounting systems (project)
- Personal taxation
The budgeting unit is about understanding how and why budgets are prepared.
Students need to display the necessary knowledge to prepare revenue forecasts and a range of budgets for different circumstances and be able to tailor them to meet organisational requirements.

Students will be able to understand the component parts of
budgetary procedure to aid organisational planning and control.
Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to prepare
budgets, analyse variances and make recommendations for improving
organisational performance. They will also be able to guide
managers in planning and control.
Students must have completed or be exempt from the AAT
Intermediate Stage.
Adults 19+ who have industry experience but do not have the
necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.
Students must become a member of the AAT within 2 weeks of
commencing the course.
