ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum of two Higher Grades (SCQF level 6) at a minimum grade C or equivalent, possibly including English, Graphic Communication or Product Design
- a National Qualification at SCQF level 5 or 6 in a related subject area, e.g. Computer Arts & Animation, Interactive Media or Digital Media
- Relevant work experience
For those returning to education, life skills and experience in the workplace may allow entry, subject to availability.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This qualification is ideal for those students who wish to progress to a university degree course in Graphic Design, Illustration, New Media, Digital Design or Visual Information, or employment in their chosen industry.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course isassessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of essays, reports, presentations, case studies and practical projects.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Successful completion of this course should enable students to enter careers as graphic or multimedia designers in the design or new media sectors. It may also allow students to gain entry to the second or third year of a degree course. Please see 'Progression Section' of the guide for details.
