The HND is designed to provide basic business skills with detailed practical studies related to both travel and tourism. The course is unitised/credit based. The HND requires a minimum of 30 credits from a mix of core and optional units.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Typical applicants will be expected to have at least two Highers. Applicants should show an interest in and aptitude for the subject or have successfully completed the appropriate non-advanced College course having shown good achievement.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The HND is suitable for a wide range of candidates including school leavers and adult returners to education who wish to follow a career in travel and tourism, candidates in employment who wish to enhance their career prospects and candidates who wish to start their own business and require a broad grounding in the industry.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
This course is mainly assessed on a continuous basis and does not include an external end-of-course examination. Coursework takes the form of essays, reports, presentations, case studies and practical projects. Most of the assessment of student work is undertaken by College staff .
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of the HND, students may apply for entry to the third year of the degree programme at The Robert Gordon University or the University of Abertay. Students may also enter employment as airline ground staff, retail travel consultants, holiday representatives or airline cabin staff at junior management level.
