The Certificate in Provision of Activities in a Care Setting is a Level 2 qualification (QCF) accredited by NCFE. This is roughly equivalent to Level 5 in Scotland (SCQF).
The course comprises of 5 mandatory units:

The materials for this course are paper based and will be posted to you. You will be supported throughout the course by a specialist Distance Learning Tutor. Your tutor will contact you (via your Aberdeen College email account) within 7-10 working days of receiving your welcome letter and materials. As you progress they will continue to make regular contact to offer support and guidance, usually by e-mail but sometimes by phone, to ensure you are making good progress and to support your learning throughout. Please note that you must be able to study independently through the course materials.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Each candidate creates a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all learning outcomes associated with each unit which is assessed by their tutor and then externally assessed before certification can be given.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for the qualification. However, a basic level of numeracy and literacy is required to comply with the Health & Safety and assessment aspects of the qualification.
