Level 3 International Business Foundation

This course is specifically designed for international students who are looking to progress to a Business-related Degree or Foundation Degree in Business.

It is a one-year course starting in September each year. The course combines training in your selected study area with English Language tuition. Successful completion of the course provides students with a qualification for entry into higher education in many UK Universities. Alternatively, students can access a place on a number of New College Nottingham's (ncn's) Foundation Degree (FdA) courses with progression onto the BA (Hons) Top-up Degrees. The aims of the course are as follows:

• Develop academic study skills such as note-taking and essay writing
• Preparation for IELTS
• Provide further knowledge in key business subject areas
• Introduce the teaching and learning styles associated with University
• Develop your personal study skills in preparation for higher education
• Support your University application

The syllabus meets the demands of Degree courses that students are likely to progress to. The course consists of six compulsory modules:

• Mathematics for business
• Law (English Legal System)
• Management accounting
• Entrepreneurial skills
• Economics
• Preparation for IELTS/English

The course also includes visits to Universities and guest speaker programmes.

This course is a Pre-Degree Foundation Course for International Students ONLY

Students must have:

• Successfully completed senior secondary school or equivalent
• A minimum English level of Academic IELTS 5.5 (no component less than 5.0) - equivalent qualifications will be accepted
