If you already have a 2B pencil and an A3 cartridge sketchbook please bring them but do not purchase them specifically for the course until after the first class. Course Aim & Objective:
Introduce the pleasures of drawing and painting, experimenting with different media and subjects to develop your own style of drawing and painting.
Make informed choices regarding subject matter and media.
Assessment:
Voluntary homework each week. Assessment through observation during class and feedback from each other and tutor.
Course Syllabus:
On this course you will learn the following skills. As the course aims to cover your individual preferences, the syllabus is flexible and based on your requests.
- Use of tone when drawing in pencil and pen.
- Use of tone when working in pastels/charcoal.
- Use of tone when painting in watercolour paints.
- Laying on a watercolour wash.
- Mixing colours with watercolour paints.
- A basic grasp of perspective.
- Understanding fundamentals of composition.
- Using watercolours to create paintings from still life and photos.
