During this course you will have the opportunity to explore traditional embroidery techniques based on the manipulation of fabric which will be made by machine and hand.

Various techniques will be covered through sampling, including tucks, smocking, pleating and cording, and you will have the opportunity to use the Princess Pleater.

You will gain an understanding of the effects of different fabrics and non-traditional materials. You will explore and combine a range of fabrics with different weights and thicknesses and be encouraged to experiment both two and three dimensionally. This course will suit beginners to manipulating fabric with some experience of sewing or designing. It is a practical course where you will have technical demonstrations and you will leave with a range of samples showing new skills and various ideas for you to develop further.
