Description

This course will cover the A-level topics 'Youth Culture and Concerns, Life-style, Health and Fitness, The World Around Us Education and Employment. You will also gain some insight through study in the classroom and also independent studies about Customs, Beliefs and Traditions (in German speaking countries) literature, historical events, current affairs and regions in Germany.

We will also revise and practise grammar, in particular adjectival endings, the passive, subjunctive and conditional.

After the first year learners who have not yet taken the A/S level exam should have had the opportunity to do so.

Oral German will be practised through discussions, role-plays and presentations.

Learner and entry requirements:

Learners will need to purchase 2 or 3 books for the course.  Learners should have A/S level German even if they haven't taken the exam or they should have an intention to take the exam.

Paper and pen and 'Zeitgeist' 1 (second edition)

Course Aim and Objectives:

To prepare learners for the A/S and A2 level exam.

Each learner will have a good knowledge of spoken and written German and some knowledge of literature, geography and current issues.
