LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES

This course will enable you to achieve the national occupational
standards in body massage, aromatherapy and reflexology, you will
also study anatomy, physiology and pathology ( diseases and
disorders) for complementary therapies in order for you to give
safe and effective treatments. Relevant health & safety and
business practice is also covered. You will also carry out
reflective practice and will learn about healthy eating and
wellbeing.
You will also be expected to participate in educational visits
and additional training days delivered by experts from the
industry, keeping you right up to date with the most recent
developments in our field of work.

treatments.
This course is appropriate for learners wishing to work in the complementary therapy and spa therapy industries as well as within health based settings.
How you will gain the qualification
All qualifications are competence based. You will be assessed
throughout the course on your understanding of the theory and your
practical skills. Practical assessments are based on your
performance when working with paying clients
There are external theory assessments on the underpinning
knowledge required for Anatomy and Physiology.
There will be case study scenarios in each of the practical
subjects.
Portfolio building is also an integral part of your evidence
What qualifications you need
Ideally you will have successfully completed the Level 2 Complementary Therapies qualification or the Level 3 Certificate in Swedish Massage. This course will suit people who have had a previous interest in Complementary Therapies.
Where to next
You can enter the workplace as a very skilled Complementary Therapist. You can progress onto Degrees in Complementary Therapies or Day Release Beauty Therapy whilst you work. You may also decide to follow a Sports Massage / Therapy route, physiotherapy or nursing.
