LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING
This practical course will help you gain skills in a variety of areas including mechanical processes, bench fitting, Computer Aided Design (CAD), electronics and electrical installation work or machining using lathes. How you will gain the qualification
The programme will have most of the time allocated to the
practical tasks and activities associated with Engineering
Manufacturing and its work related proceses. You will be required
to keep a portfolio of evidence, a training folder and also a
folder for notes that will help you understand the pratical tasks
completed. Students will also complete the City and Guilds 2850
Level 2 in Engineering.
In addition you will also need to complete an Induction OCN, Essential Skills in AON, Communications and I.T.
What qualifications you need
At least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-D including Maths and English or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Where to next
Students can enter into employment and continue to study on a
day release basis or enter into a sponsored Modern Apprenticeship
with a participating employer. Those who have also successfully
completed the PEO Level 2 could also continue onto a Level 3
programme e.g. BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary & Extended Diploma or
onto the Electro-Technical Installation course.
Learners are encouraged to re-sit GCSES, where grades are lower than C, minimum grade B in Maths is necessary for level 3.
