An ideal way of starting in the trees and timber industry. This course is a blend of theory and practical which will build on your love of the outdoors. Learn a wide range of skills which will give you opportunities for future study or entry to employment. This full-time course will also feature basic horticultural techniques to help develop your all-round knowledge.

  • Tree and shrub establishment
  • Machinery skills.

One year at college, work experience for at least one day per week in a relevant business.

Students need to show interest and enthusiasm together with an ability to cope with the written assignment work. Minimum: English and Maths at Grade D or above.

Employment in arboricultural, forestry or allied businesses. Level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship.

Full Time Further EducationYour learning is FREE if you are a UK or EU student, aged under 19 years on 31st August in the academic year you start your course.

Aged over 19?The cost of a full-time course for the academic year 2012/13 (starting September 2012) was be £1,250 per year. 2013 price tbc.
