A practical course for those wishing to take on a more supervisory role. It covers all aspects of general care and management regimes, together with preparing and caring for fit horses. The riding training programme at this level may be taken with the stable management or separately. Learners will develop effective yet sympathetic riding, while maintaining a balanced, correct and supple seat in all gaits. You will need to be capable of jumping cross country fences at 3ft and show jumping fences at 3ft 3in.

It covers all aspects of general care and management regimes, together with preparing and caring for fit horses.

- Stable design
- Fittening
- Shoeing
- General handling
- Grassland management
- Saddlery
- Anatomy and physiology
- Horse health
- Lungeing
There is an opportunity to take a mock and/or BHS stage 3 exam. Entry to BHS exams should be directly to the British Horse Society via www.bhs.org.uk
Entry Requirements
Enthusiasm and willing to learn new skills. For riding, you should have achieved BHS Stage 2 riding or Pony Club B. All riding has a weight limit of 13.5 stones.
