Animal Care is a fast growing and an exciting industry to work in. You will learn about how to care for different types of animals as well as their health and welfare requirements. We currently have a range of small animals, including a corn snake, tarantula, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, chinchillas, scorpion, fire-bellied toad, chipmunks and hamsters, and are increasing our range of animals all the time! You will learn about how to care for different types of animals as well as their health and welfare requirements. This is a practical course on which you will learn about different types of animals’ health and welfare requirements. You will also gain an understanding of animal biology and undertake work experience within the animal care industry. You will learn the following skills: Maintaining animal accommodation, practical animal, feeding, the principles of animal behaviour and handling, contribute to the care of exotic animals, and functional skills in English, maths and ICTWhat option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? On completion of this course you could get employment working with animals or progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Care.
