BA / BEd Education (Honours Top-up Programme) - Professional Practice in the Lifelong Learning Sector Route

- give you a wide understanding of the principles of teaching and learning
- deepen and broaden your professional knowledge and understanding of education
- encourage you to reflect creatively on your professional experience
- provide the opportunity to undertake research
- enable you to progress to further study or training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (please note, the BA/BEd does not give QTS).

Who is this programme for?
Primarily, people who have completed the IOE Foundation Degree in Professional Practice in the Lifelong Learning Sector at the IOE, who want to pursue their education studies alongside their employment and achieve a Bachelors degree.
Entry requirements
Normally an IOE foundation degree. We may consider applicants with a foundation degree from another institution, at the discretion of the programme leader. Any student that has failed to submit coursework for the foundation degree on at least one occasion will have their BEd / BA application reviewed. We may ask you to attend an interview or provide samples of your previous academic work.
How is the course assessed?
By coursework assignments, including essays, reports, presentations and portfolios.
Attendance
Face-to-face sessions, one evening a week, from 5pm to 9pm.
