Completion of this course will prepare you for the world of work, or to go on and study one of our Foundation Degrees or continue your studies at university.
Entry Requirements
- 200 GCSE entry points including English at Grade C or have a Level 2 Diploma at Merit level
- You will have to provide examples of art and design work at interview
- We also welcome applications from students with relevant experience or qualifications
What will I be doing on the course?
- 3D Designers produce creative solutions in response to clients needs and the course focuses on three main areas of design to help develop these skills:
- Product design, Furniture design, Interior/environmental design.
- Model making (including prototypes)
- Drawing and illustration (freehand and technical).
- IT skills including DTP, computer-aided design, animation and movie making.
- Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (visual, written and oral).
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through working on practical assignments producing a range of visual presentations, design models and sketchbooks.
Functional skills are assessed through portfolio and online assessment.
What will I need?
All students are required to purchase a course kit and may also need personal stationery. (A kit list will be provided).
There will be additional payments required for some study trips (travel cost, entry fees).
Due to the use of workshops a pair of suitable footwear will also be required (boots do not need to be steel toe capped).

Additional Activities
You will take part in our enrichment programme, which includes trips to galleries, museums and exhibitions in and around London. You will be able to develop skills in English, Numeracy and ICT through taking key or functional skills as appropriate.
There will also be the opportunity to work on live briefs, working closely with visiting professional designers within the industry.
