HND 3D Design: Interior Design

Overview

This SQA Group Award in Interior Design is about designing spaces & places for people – creating interior schemes and solving problems to improve the world around us. It enables you to develop the creative, analytical and technical skills for jobs in the interior design profession.

• NC in Interior Design or related subject, OR
• Higher Art and Design and English at minimum Intermediate 2.
• Examples of your Art and Design work (portfolio)

Subjects include: Developmental Drawing, the Creative Process, Digital Imaging (2D CAD), Art and Design Project, Interior Design Projects, Creative Project for Artists and Designers, Digital Modelling (3D CAD), Art and Design Context: Personal Investigation, 3D Design Portfolio and Presentation and a Graded Unit at the end of each year.

• Career – interior design and architectural practices, space planning consultants, property development – shop and office fitting, museum and exhibition design

• Continuing study – successful HND students can move onto the BA (Hons) Interior Design offered through the College in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) for a further two years (2+2 format) or any other university of your choosing.

Two years, starting in August. You can also leave after one year with a HNC.
