What do I need to get on this course?

There are no qualifications required, but a willingness to work well, attend regularly and an active interest in the workings of Health and Social Care is very important.

You will be interviewed by a tutor and will be asked to carry out an initial assessment if needed. If you have any extra support needs, these will be discussed at the interview.

How will I be assessed?

Before starting the course, you may be asked to take a short written exercise in Literacy and a Numeracy assessment, so that we are able to place you on the correct level.

On the course, your progress will be checked regularly through coursework, and short controlled assessments in your classes.

Where does it lead?

Successful completion of the course could lead to a Level 1 Foundation Learning course in Health and Social Care.

The course also prepares you for Level 1 courses and will improve your employability skills.
