The Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce will be the only Level 3 qualification that will confer occupational confidence for the Children and Young People's Workforce. The Diploma covers the age range from birth to 19 years and has a minimum credit value of 65 credits. The qualification is composed of 11 mandatory units equal to 27 credits altogether. The remaining credits are accured in completing a variety of optional units. These can be through three different pathways:

- Learning, Development and Support Services.
Assessment Method
To achieve the Level 3 Diploma, a candidate must be assessed as competent in all units. The choice of optional units will reflect that candidate's work setting. Assessment takes place in the workplace, meeting national standards. To study on this course you will need to be actively working with children. An assessor will be allocated unless you have a qualified work - based assessor. You will also gather evidence and this will be put in a portfolio. Evidence is your experiences with children and may include witness testimony, observation and reflection on your own practice.
