Course Content

This is an exciting new course and on completion it will provide you with the opportunity to progress your interest in science further - either by entering Higher Education or taking up employment in the scientific sector. This course aims to provide a practical base for anyone wishing to work within the science industry, with an emphasis on Forensic Science.

Subjects studied cover a variety of scientific topics, such as:

• Anatomy & physiology
• Forensic evidence collection & analysis
• Fundamentals of science
• Genetics & genetic engineering
• Practical chemical analysis
• Scientific investigation
• Scientific practical techniques
• Working in the science industry.

This course can lead directly on to a Higher Education course (degree/HND) in applied sciences, forensic science, or other science related courses such as genetics.

Alternatively, employment opportunities include various science technician roles across education and industry, including schools and hospitals and research laboratory work.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English, maths and double science, or equivalent.
