  • Be able to apply your knowledge and skills to accurately observe and document medico-legal findings
  • Be able to develop and critique medico-legal opinions based upon current literature

This course can also be taken on a part-time basis, lasting for 24 months.

Departmental facilities

The Centre for Forensic & Legal Medicine at the University of Dundee has excellent facilities for post-graduate studies. The Centre has its own histopathology and toxicology laboratories and the mortuary is a newly built modern facility.

The Centre library holds complete sets of all English-language forensic medicine and science journals and an extensive collection of forensic medicine and science textbooks.

Who should study this course?

The Master of Forensic Medicine is a 1-year taught masters course designed primarily for overseas medical graduates. It may be suitable also for graduates in the biological sciences who have already completed a postgraduate degree such as an MSc or a PhD.
