End Qualification:

Extended diploma courses have 3 achievement points: you will work towards the subsidiary diploma qualification in the first year of the course and will have the opportunity to work towards either the diploma or the extended diploma in the second year.

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including mathematics, English language and a double certificate in science.

Assessment:

Students are assessed through a variety of methods, for example assignments, case studies, work based assessments, projects, performance observation and internally set exams.

Progression from this course:

The BTEC subsidiary and extended diplomas in applied sciences can lead to BTEC higher nationals or degree courses in biology, chemistry, physics and health or sports related courses.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information. Some outdoor activities may take place (not compulsory) and are payable by the student.

Additional Information:
