AQA GCSE English Language Level 2

Suitable For

This is a core qualification required by both employers and Higher Education. You will improve the fluency and accuracy of your own written expression and will develop communication skills that you will need to use in a variety of ways throughout your life.

Course Content

Students will study modules in writing, reading and spoken language. In addition to this, students will be required to participate in speaking and listening tasks.

Assessment Method

The assessment consists of: Three Controlled Assessments (prepared in class and written under examination conditions) Three Oral Assessments One examination (early June)

Progression

This qualification is useful for Higher Education in conjunction with A-Levels or Advanced GNVQs, as well as helping employment prospects. Most college and university courses require GCSE English as an entry requirement, as do many jobs and careers.

Additional Information

THIS COURSE IS FREE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST GRADE C.

Duration: One year (part-time, day or evening sessions are available) You will develop a wide range of spoken and written communication skills as well as improving your ability to work with others, to analyse and solve problems and to take charge of your own learning. All students will be interviewed prior to starting the course.

Entry Requirements

All applicants will require Grade D GCSE English and an informal interview/online literacy test before commencing the course.
