About This CourseEven when you've landed your dream job, it's still important to stay one step ahead of the game. This National Certificate will give you a broad based understanding of production, design or electronic engineering. With the National Certificate you'll already be working in this field, over the two years you'll study 12 modules including business systems, engineering principles, mathematics, science and specialist subjects that relate to your job. The functional skills qualifications are in Communication, Application of number and ICT and are an integral part of your learning experience. It will help you to develop skills in problem solving, teamwork, delivery of presentations and essay writing.
Additional NotesYou will need notebooks, folders, drawing instruments and a scientific calculator.
Entry CriteriaYou'll need at least four GCSE's, grade A* - C preferably in Mathematics, English and Science and one other in order to apply for the course. If you are a mature student with experience in engineering and manufacturing you may be able to join following a successful interview.
Progression DetailsAfter completing the two year course you can apply to start an HNC/ HND or suitable Foundation Degree course.
