Civil Engineering BTEC Diploma Level 3 Awarding Body: Edexcel Course Details In the construction industry National Certificate courses are very highly respected and complement good work experience. They are also a good progression route to Higher National Certificate and Degree courses. The second and final year will cover four specified specialist units: Surveying processes. Setting out processes. Structural mechanics. Civil engineering construction. Plus two optional units to be agreed with the course tutor. A Course for Trainee technicians in Civil or Structural Engineering, Transportation, and the public service areas of Civil Engineering. Also unemployed status students may be eligible to embark upon this course. Entry Requirements Four GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, or BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in Construction, or CGLI Advanced Craft in Brickwork or Carpentry & Joinery. Students of a mature status or those who impress on interview may also be considered. Assessment Continuous assessment. Progression after Programme This course can be a route to Higher Education to follow Higher National Diploma or Certificate courses and Degree courses.
