About This Course

Register at Gloucestershire College Apprentice Unit for your chance to enrol onto the Motor Vehicle Foundation Apprenticeship. The College has four great car workshops, with its own MOT Centre for you to use. But most of your studying will also take place in your employer's workplace. The Foundation Apprenticeship is the first and second level in apprenticeships and will help you get to grips with the basics. There are three elements to the qualification: an NVQ, a Technical Certificate and Functional Skills. About This Course

Register at Gloucestershire College Apprentice Unit for your chance to enrol onto the Motor Vehicle Foundation Apprenticeship. The College has four great car workshops, with its own MOT Centre for you to use. But most of your studying will also take place in your employer's workplace. The Foundation Apprenticeship is the first and second level in apprenticeships and will help you get to grips with the basics. There are three elements to the qualification: an NVQ, a Technical Certificate and Functional Skills. Functional skills are a range of skills that help you to succeed in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development. Functional skills qualifications are in Communication, Application of numbers and ICT and are an integral part of your learning experience. It will help you to develop skills in problem solving, teamwork, delivery of presentations and essay writing. You'll be assessed by tutors on both your college studies and on your skills at work. You will also have a coordinator who will meet regularly with you and your employer to discuss your progress and set you appropriate targets to help keep you on track to make good progress.

Entry Criteria

If you have four GCSEs with grades A* - D and have a passion for cars, then this is the course for you.

Progression Details

Once you've successfully completed the course, you can enrol onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme at level 3.
