GC12 Plastering

What will I do on the course? This is an opportunity for you to gain a Level 2 Diploma in Plastering. You will have the chance to work with specialists in their field in industry standard facilities with fully-equipped workshops and modern classrooms, most of which are fitted with inter-active whiteboards. The topics you study include: - Safe working practices - Information, quantities and communicating with others - Building methods and construction technology - Applying plaster to external walls - Fix dry lining and plasterboard to internal walls - Form sand and cement screeds - Produce plaster to internal walls - Position and secure fibrous components How will I be assessed? Assessment is on successful completion of all units. On completion of all units there will be one on-line knowledge test and a practical assessment.

Is there anything else I should know? You will be required to wear suitable clothing and a pair of steel toe capped boots or shoes.

What do I need to do the course? THIS COURSE IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS AGED 19 OR OVER. You will need to demonstrate that you are able to commit to the course. Each student will be interviewed when you will have the opportunity to demonstrate this commitment.

What can I do after the course? - Progress on to an NVQ Level 2 - Become a plasterer (employed or self-employed) .
