Diploma in Construction - Level 1

Introduction

If you want to get your foot on the ladder in the construction industry, then this is the course for you. This will help you develop the skills you need to progress on to further training and a career in construction.

What Will I Learn

This course has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to experience and develop a range of skills in a Construction setting. You will explore a range of core units providing you with essential information for all jobs in the Construction industry. You will also learn practical skills associated with a number of trade areas throughout your course.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will be assessed through a variety of methods including project work, written assignments and/or practical tasks.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D including Mathematics or English, a Foundation Diploma (equivalent to 5 GCSEs at Grades D – G), NVQ1 or satisfactory completion of a Foundation Learning programme at Level 1 with a minimum of 37 credits.

Additional Information

You will also study a qualification in Personal and Social Development, Functional Skills in either, Maths, English or I.T.. A course contribution fee of £50.00 will apply, this contributes towards an external trade-related trip, course textbook and cours

Career Opportunities

A job in the Construction industry along your chosen preferred area of construction. Students generally progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Construction, however direct entry to full time employment or a construction apprenticeship are also possible car
